The busy W Diversey Avenue is getting a new spot for cocktails.

A liquor license application was recently submitted under Dany Sports Bar for 5650 W Diversey Avenue. This will be opening in the former Okicim location. Owner Dionicio Arguello told What Now Chicago he is hoping to open around the new year.

Arguello said the menu will just have drinks for now, like cocktails and beer. There is the possibility of adding food to the menu, but not for now.

The bar will be attached to the Golden Tuzo restaurant, and is near the corner of W Diversey and N Major avenues. Across the street is Taqueria Diversey, and this is a prominent area for Latino-owned businesses. The Belmont Central neighborhood is about a half hour from downtown Chicago.

Arguello said he will be releasing more information as construction is progressing. No social media for the business has been set up yet.
