A coffee shop with Latino-inspired dishes is coming to the Picnic South Loop food court.
From their Instagram, a new Believe Cafe location is listed at 2537 S Wabash. This will be the company’s second cafe, bringing the same menu items. Co-owner Michael Cisneros told What Now Chicago he is hoping to open sometime early next year.
Believe Cafe’s current location is at 3901 W Belmont Avenue and originally debuted in September 2024. Cisneros and fellow co-owner Erin Cebrero had the idea to create a coffee shop with empanadas as one of the main dishes, like the egg and cheese biscuit empanada. Signature drinks served include the red horchata latte, cafe de olla with cinnamon, blueberry foam cold brew and honeygoat milk latte.
The new cafe is at the same address as South Loop Food Company, featuring names like Hyderabadi Thaal, Thali Indian Cuisine and Biryani Ka Adda. The building is described as a “digital food court,” with over 100 restaurants offering takeout options. What Now Chicago previously covered L&G Family Restaurant finding a location at the food hall.
In a post from last week, the cafe hinted that their real horchata latte will be served at the new location. Construction is happening inside, and they will be in room 15 at the building.
