The team behind the Italian-American speakeasy Bar Enzo in Long Island City looks to be bringing its Mid-Century Modern vibes across the East River. Owners have filed for a liquor license with Manhattan Community Board 6 to open a new location at 1073 1st Ave. in Midtown East. What Now New York has reached out for more information. In a recent social media update, the owners shared their vision for the dual-concept space.

“We started building something new this week,” begins a post linked to the Bar Enzo Instagram profile. “A small space in Midtown East. Coffee in the morning, Speakeasy in the evening. A place you can stop by in the morning, and come back to later without it feeling like a different place.”

While the new concept will embrace the all-day approach that is becoming increasingly popular, it will likely carry over the Italian-American influences that defined the original Bar Enzo, which is tucked above the LIC restaurant Greats of Craft. The current bar highlights Italian amari and reimagined classic cocktails, alongside light fare.
