Stan’s Sport Center is a family-run sporting goods business that opened in 1946. According to a report by The Hoboken Girl, the store was founded by brothers-in-law Pete Stanich and Ray Cerrito. The duo sold the store to long-time employee Dan DeCongelio in 1996.
Since then, the DeCongelio family has been operating the business. Over the years, the store grew into a local source for sports equipment, uniforms, team apparel, and athletic gear.

Although the Hoboken storefront is closing, Stan’s Sport Center will continue operating. The company also posted, “Our next chapter is already underway. Stan’s will continue as an authorized team dealer and full-service sporting goods vendor, serving schools, teams, organizations and communities throughout New Jersey and beyond.”
