Owners of a Lebanese bistro look to be introducing a new concept to the Detroit suburbs.
Keystone Commercial Real Estate recently carried out a lease for L’Saj Kitchen, coming to 15535 15 Mile Road in Clinton Township. This comes from Sal Awada who owns La’Saj with restaurants in Sterling Heights and Troy, changing to a kitchen. Awada told What Now Detroit the opening date will be in six or seven months.
The other two locations are in Sterling Heights at 13776 Southcove Drive and in Troy at 2149 Crooks Road. At the restaurants, staple Lebanese dishes are crafted including beef kabob, chicken shawarma and shrimp ghallaba. Sandwiches, salads and appetizers like falafel are also at the Troy and Sterling Heights restaurants.
“Our chefs bring centuries-old Saj cooking traditions to life, using USDA prime meats, fresh seafood and organic vegetables,” says the description on their website.
L’Saj will be on the north side of 15 Mile Road, close to a Green Lantern Pizza location in the parking lot. A Meijer is across the street, with surrounding chains like Arby’s, Tim Hortons and Starbucks. This is on the east side of the city, near the border of Fraser.
Awada said he did not want to release more information on the menu right now as it is early in the opening process. If the new concept does well, there is the possibility of opening new L’Saj restaurants in the future. More updates on L’Saj can be found on their Instagram @lasaj_bistro.
