After more than two decades of service, Mason’s Grille 52 is preparing to close permanently. The restaurant team shared the closure announcement on social media with an invitation for the community. Mason’s Grille plans to serve its final drink on Thursday, May 14.
Mason’s Grille 52 to Shut Down Permanently
A longtime favorite fine dining destination, Mason’s Grille 52, says goodbye. Located at 52 Main Street in Hamburg, New York, it is popularly known for its American and pub-style menu.
The restaurant space features a cozy fireplace setting, and since its opening in 2004, Mason’s Grille has been a go-to spot in Hamburg for dates, dinners, and local beers. The menu features Black Angus steaks, bourbon-glazed pork chops, and French onion soup. The restaurant has been operated by the Ayer family.
In an official social media announcement, the restaurant team confirmed the closure. The team wrote, “After 23 incredible years, the time has come for Mason’s Grille 52 to close its doors.”
The team reflected on its time in the Village of Hamburg and said they will cherish the memories.
“What began as a dream became so much more because of this community. We’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, first dates, proposals, weddings, and everyday moments together,” continued the statement. “We have laughed with you, cried with you, and have appreciated every single moment of it. We’ve watched families grow up around our tables, and we’ve had the privilege of serving generations of guests who became true friends and family to us.”
Restaurant Prepares for Farewell
Mason’s team encourages the community to visit one last time on May 14 for a final drink. To celebrate its final chapter in the neighborhood, the restaurant plans a farewell evening. “We would love to welcome you all for one final evening on Thursday, May 14th, starting at 4 p.m. Although the kitchen won’t be open, your favorite bartenders will be behind the bar, ready to serve you,” the team said.
In the post, they also thanked the community and mentioned that they are looking forward to “what the next chapter will bring.”
“We know that the Village of Hamburg will support and welcome the new occupants of this historic space, the same way you did for us,” added the team.
As the restaurant winds up its operations, the team hopes to host one final evening of celebration with the community. The closure of Mason’s Grille 52 will leave a significant gap in Hamburg’s dining scene.
