Arlington’s loss is poised to be Millington’s gain. Trudie’s Catfish Cabin has signed a lease for a Millington storefront and is exploring the possibility of other Memphis-area spaces, according to a recent Facebook post.
Trudie’s Catfish Cabin is waiting for the site at 7822 US Highway 51 N to be brought up to code so they can begin working in earnest on preparing the new restaurant. The concept closed its doors in Arlington in April, so locals are certain to be hungry for any news about the new location.
While Trudie’s Catfish Cabin is presently unable to provide much by way of an update, a social media announcement posted on June 3 reassured fans that the restaurant still has every intention of returning, saying “We know you all have been patiently waiting & so have we. Hopefully we will be open there soon. We are also open to opening in Memphis or Oakland Tn if you are aware of any previous restaurant spaces comment below. Again we will keep you updated as we are Millington. We miss all of you !!”
The concept currently has a certificate of occupancy under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development and is clearly committed to reopening its doors to welcome and feed area foodies.
Trudie’s Catfish Cabin is doing an impressive job of keeping excitement alive and thriving while it (and its fans) wait for the new location to be ready. Recent posts show that the eatery plans to have a “dessert of the day”, “soul food Sundays”, and an impressive menu of delicious comfort food favorites.
