Known for its stacked sandwiches, Morucci’s Deli is preparing to expand with a new location in Pleasant Hill. According to The Bay Area Telegraph, the business is eyeing a site at 236 Golf Club Road.
Founded more than three decades ago, Morucci’s has built a reputation as one of the Bay Area’s go-to sandwich shops, featuring Italian subs, roasted turkey sandwiches, hot pastrami, tri-tip, salads, breakfast items, and house-made dressings.
One of Morucci’s most popular menu items is the No. 5 California Club, a sandwich that has helped earn the deli a loyal following throughout the East Bay. Served on a toasted Semifreddi’s ciabatta roll, the sandwich layers turkey, Swiss cheese, crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onions with the deli’s house-made ranch dressing. The combination of fresh ingredients and locally sourced bread has made the California Club a customer favorite and a standout item on Morucci’s extensive sandwich menu.
The current location at 1218 Boulevard Way in Walnut Creek has become a destination for sandwich lovers throughout the region, with customers often lining up for favorites such as the California Club and Italian Sub. The deli emphasizes fresh-sliced ingredients, house-made pesto, and neighborhood hospitality as key elements of its identity.
