A sports facility with food and drinks is popping up in the northwest neighborhood.
Players Sports Center is a new facility bringing basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts to Logan Square, along with a turfed field for soccer. The sports concept will also feature a “beach bar” addition. Right now, the team is hoping to open at the beginning of September.
From their website, the area for food and drinks will be called “Players Beach.” This is a destination for both food and drinks for those who want a break from their game.
“Players Beach brings the sand indoors — six dedicated sand volleyball courts and a beach-side lounge with Players Beach Bar serving full food & drinks. Year-round summer, no sunscreen required,” says the description.
The concept comes from Players Sport and Social and Clear Skies Hospitality, which has opened SPF Pickleball locations in the past including at 2121 N Clybourn in Lincoln Park. The company has held pickleball pop-up events at the Logan Square facility before, and this will now be a destination open all year. What Now Chicago has reached out to Clear Skies Hospitality and is awaiting comment.
Players Sports Center is opening in the plaza with Target and The Home Depot, on the east side of N Western Avenue. This is also across from chains at the Riverfront Plaza including Micro Center, Five Below and Ross Dress for Less. The facility is on the east end of Logan Square.
More updates on Players Sports Center and the grand opening will be provided on their Instagram @playerssportscenter.
