Memphis, get ready to say “goodbye” to a Poplar Avenue Wendy’s and “hello”….to Wendy’s. The Wendelta franchise group is getting ready to demolish the existing iteration of the fast-casual restaurant so it can be rebuilt, returning the chain’s signature fare to the area.
In a significant move forward, Wendelta, a subsidiary of Carlisle Corp, has submitted an Administrative Site Plan Review to the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development, which is listed as “pending” as of September 18. The form describes a simple and straightforward plan of attack for the 4605 Poplar Avenue storefront: “Demo existing Wendy’s and rebuild Wendy’s on existing lot”.
An attached letter of intent provides some insight into the future incarnation of Wendy’s on Poplar Avenue; the proposed building will be approximately 2,280 square-feet and will feature 2 drive-thru lanes and a canopy. Visitors can rest assured that there will be plenty of accommodation for diners hoping to enjoy their meal on-site; the letter states: “The site will maintain minimum, or more, parking accommodations.”
