Two entrepreneurs have found a new storefront to serve authentic Turkish cuisine.
Kashgar Uyghur Dining is a new concept planned for Palatine, per a recent The Daily Herald report. This comes from restaurateurs Waris Ablimit and Rahila Reshid, who own their Chicago spot under the same name. An opening date has not been confirmed as the project still needs to be approved by the village council.
The two operate their location at 4830 N Pulaski in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago. It opened recently in July, and the team serves loaded kebabs and main courses like laghman and stir-fried beef. Soups with protein like lamb, chicken wings and appetizers like nan and samsa are also on the menu.
“At Kashgar Uyghur Dining, we are passionate about sharing the authentic flavors and rich traditions of Uyghur cuisine,” says the description on their website. Uyghurs are a Muslim group that originate in Turkey.
The location is next to Bread & Butter Cafe, on the east side of Northeast Highway. This is just a few blocks from Palatine’s downtown, and across from the suburb’s Community Park. It is also a short drive from the Highway 53 on-ramp.
Ablimit also operates restaurant locations in New York and Boston. Their new establishment needs to go through final approvals, as it has already been sent through Palatine’s planning commission. What Now Chicago has reached out to the Kashgar Uyghur team and is awaiting comment.
