A new restaurant is in the works in Round Rock, at the intersection of North Mays Street and East Milam Ave. A recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows Casa Masa Restaurant planning to open at 409 N Mays St, after renovations to the building, which was constructed in 1984.

The remodel to the 2,812-square-foot space is expected to run from June 15 to December 2, with an estimated price tag of $500,000.

What Now reached out on Friday to owner Fernando Palacios to ask about plans for the new restaurant. Palacios was not immediately available for comment.

The name refers, of course, to masa, the traditional Mexican corn dough that is used to make tortillas, tamales, and other classics.

Opening in the North Mays Street location, Casa Masa Restaurant would be situated near other local businesses like Paige’s Bakehouse, Something Natural Hair, and 620 Florist.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
