Something big is set to make a splash at Broadway at the Beach soon.
Big Fish, operated by Peter Haentjens, who is also behind Dead Dog Saloon and The Claw House, will take over the former Liberty Brewery and Grill space. The restaurant closed in 2020 after 25 years in business, according to MyrtleBeach.com
“Thank you for your support, it’s been an amazing journey filled with unforgettable memories & friendships. We wouldn’t have made it 25 years without YOU!” Liberty Brewery and Grill shared via Instagram.
While details about the new spot remain limited, it will be a seafood restaurant with a menu to match. Our guess? Fish is expected to be a staple, a clear nod to the name.
Demolition of the former restaurant began in October 2025. The new space will feature ample outdoor seating, including a large deck being added to the site.
An official opening date for Big Fish has not yet been announced, but the debut is projected for 2026. Stay tuned!
