Cork & Cap, a neighborhood wine and provisions shop in Aiken, is set to debut a new identity after six years in business.

An idea born on their first date became reality when James Alford, a wine professional, and Erin Eisele, a local food advocate, opened the bottle shop dedicated to helping customers explore, taste and learn about wine, beer and cider.

The husband-and-wife duo announced on social media that while Cork & Cap is coming to an end, the business is not closing. Instead, it will begin a new chapter as Vignette Wine Bar & Cellar.

“At the end of June, we’ll be saying goodbye to the yellow cottage, and introducing something entirely new. A new name. A new look. A new space. And a concept that reflects everything we’ve learned over the past six years,” the post read.

The reimagined space will offer a more intimate experience, featuring curated wines for purchase, an expanded by-the-glass program and snacks inspired by the shop’s provision favorites.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Cork & Cap along the way. You helped shape what comes next. We’re excited to share the first glimpse of the future,” the post read.

While additional details remain under wraps, Vignette Wine Bar & Cellar is expected to open later this summer. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
