An Australia-based Mexican cuisine restaurant is not slowing down Chicago growth.
Along with a new Naperville location, Guzman Y Gomez announced two new Chicago restaurants are coming to the city: 4711 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square and 925 W Belmont in Lakeview. The Lincoln Square location will open sometime later this year, followed by Lakeview in winter 2027.
The company has been around since 2006, now with over 270 locations worldwide. Guzman Y Gomez has seen expansion in Chicagoland in recent years, with locations in Schaumburg, Crystal Lake, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Evanston, Des Plaines, Naperville and Bucktown. What Now Chicago previously covered the Naperville restaurant coming to 844 S Route 59, set to open later in 2026.
“At GYG, we’re not just opening restaurants, we’re building a long-term business in the communities we are present,” said founder and CEO Steven Marks in a press release.
The Mexican kitchen is known for delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner options with fresh flavors. The popular breakfast burritos feature choices of crispy bacon, chicken chorizo and vegetables with hashbrowns and jack cheese. Tacos, bowls, nachos, fajitas, quesadillas and salads are other options.
The new Guzman Y Gomez in Lincoln Square will be at the intersection of W Leland Avenue, close to the Western CTA Brown Line station. For Lakeview, the restaurant is coming to the storefront next to Reckless Records, a short walk from the Belmont Red Line station.
