The chain with hand-picked fruits and vegetables will serve another neighborhood this year.
A liquor license application was recently submitted for Mendocino Farms coming to 847 W Fulton Market this year. This would be the company’s third location in the Chicago area, still within city limits. As it is early in the development stages, an opening date has not been announced.
The El Segundo, California-based company has locations in The Loop at 233 S Wacker Drive and in River North at 508 N Clark Street. What Now Chicago previously covered Mendocino Farms opening in River North in April last year. No other expansion plans have been announced.
The restaurant is known for their signature sandwiches like the “not so fried” chicken, Peruvian steak and their prosciutto & chicken. Another favorite is the smoky BBQ brioche sandwich with rainbow carrot-apple slaw. Sandwiches, deli sides and soup will also be served at Fulton Market like other locations.
“Since opening our first Chicago location last summer, we’ve felt so much love from the community. It’s been exciting to introduce Mendo — bringing bold, unexpected flavors together with genuinely warm hospitality. With Fulton Market opening in June, we’re looking forward to continuing that momentum and serving our chefy sandwiches, salads, and catering to even more of Chicagoland,” said Chief Marketing Officer for Mendocino Farms Alicia Mowder.
The new spot is at the corner of W Fulton and N Green streets, next to Aba Mediterranean restaurant. Other concepts at the building include Beatrix, Punch Bowl Social, Labriola Italian Specialties and Costera Cocina Tulum. This is on the east side of Fulton Market District, not far from the Morgan CTA station.
A representative from Mendocino Farms told What Now Chicago a press release about the new location will be releasing in the coming weeks.
