Following the continued success at their family restaurant, two business owners are getting ready to debut another spot in the city.
From Block Club Chicago, Nicolas and Oliver Poilevey are setting up their new concept Chez Poulet at 2234 N Western Avenue in Bucktown. This replaces the old Taqueria Chingon space in the neighborhood. Nicolas told What Now Chicago they are hoping to debut the restaurant in about six weeks.
The Poileveys have been planning the concept for around three months, and the new spot will be mostly carry-out. While the menu will serve mostly rotisserie chicken dishes, the two are also serving bread from Wicker Park’s Mindy’s Bakery. A wine shop is also opening in the back.
The brothers worked at Le Bouchon at 1958 N Damen Avenue alongside their father, chef Jean-Claude Poilevey, who sadly passed away in a car accident in 2016. At Le Bouchon, they serve a lunch and dinner menu of French classics like steak frites and poulet roti. Oliver also reopened Taqueria Chingon in Fulton Market with chef Marcos Ascencio.
Chez Poulet will be on the west side of N Western Avenue, next to Birrieria Estilo Jalisco. This is also across the street from Onions & Cilantro, as well as Quesadilla La Reina del Sur. The Western CTA Blue Line station is only a few blocks south.
The owners will be setting up a social media and website for Chez Poulet closer to the opening.
