Pickleball is getting a new home in Denver, and this one comes with coffee, cocktails and plenty of room to hang out after the game.
Doubles Club is preparing to open at 3200 Larimer Street in RiNo, bringing six indoor pickleball courts together with a café, bar and community-focused gathering space. The concept is being created by Denver locals Will Lake and Alexandra Hansen, who say they wanted to build a place where recreation and social connection could exist under one roof.
“We’re two friends who are embarking on our first business venture because we love Denver and we love bringing people together,” the owners said on the business’s website.
After living in RiNo and Five Points for years, Lake and Hansen saw an opportunity to create a space where people could play pickleball, grab a drink and spend time with friends without having to head somewhere else once the game was over.
The club will feature six premium indoor courts with professional surfaces and lighting. Doubles Club plans to offer open play, leagues, drills, coaching, lessons and private instruction, giving players different ways to get on the court whether they are picking up a paddle for the first time or looking to sharpen their game.
Beginner-friendly programming is part of the concept, with the owners emphasizing inclusivity and a welcoming experience for players of all levels. The business also describes its approach as “premium not pretentious,” extending from its courts to its food and beverage offerings.
Once the match is over, players can head to the club’s café and bar. The menu will include specialty coffee, craft cocktails and elevated bites, giving members and visitors another reason to stick around.
Doubles Club is also planning a lineup of events, including tournaments, social gatherings, pop-ups and community events. The owners say they want to work with local partners and artists to reflect the creative character of RiNo.
Memberships will offer another way to make the club a regular part of the week. Members will receive perks such as priority court booking, discounted rates, exclusive events and access to the Doubles Club community.
The club is being designed with a separation between the courts and the café and bar, allowing guests to move between recreation and socializing while still having distinct spaces for each. The owners say the goal is to create a place where people can play, grab coffee, share drinks or simply spend time together.
For Lake and Hansen, that community piece is central to the business.
“We believe an active lifestyle doesn’t just mean exercise, but living a life full of social and community connections,” the owners said.
Doubles Club is currently listed as coming soon and is expected to open later this year – late fall, with the business encouraging people to join its list for updates on court openings, founding member perks and launch events. The website currently lists operating hours of 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. once open.
