A growing option for Mediterranean cuisine is expanding in Shelby Township.
The owners of Hungry Habibi are officially opening their third location at 53169 Hayes Road. This was formerly a beauty salon for the township. An opening date has not yet been announced, but the team has just started the hiring process.
“We can’t wait to welcome you through the doors of our newest location,” says the recent post from Hungry Habibi.
The chain started by brothers Manar and Wameedh Zeebaree currently serves their Mediterranean cuisine at 4015 Auburn Road in Shelby Charter Township and at 31298 Groesbeck Highway in Fraser. The Shelby location debuted in November 2024, serving shawarma sandwiches, hummus and combo trays. One of their mains, the “combo for 3” comes with two beef kafta skewers, two skewers of chicken kafta, chicken shawarma, beef shawarma and chicken cream chop.
The new Hungry Habibi will be at the intersection of 24 Mile Road, sharing the building with a Wing Snob location. This is also next to Bubble Cream Restaurant. A Meijer grocery store and gas station are right across the street.
As it is early in the hiring process, the opening will likely not be until sometime next month. What Now Detroit has reached out to the owners for comment. For more updates on the official opening date for Hungry Habibi, visit their social media pages.
