Experience Social, a new family-friendly entertainment venue converting the former Brass Monkey rock bar into an interactive gaming space, is preparing to open in Ottawa at 250 Greenbank Rd.

The company’s flagship location is set to move into the former home of Brass Monkey, located in the Greenbank Hunt Club Center, according to the Ottawa Citizen. Owner Mike Loftus is leading the project, which is currently under renovation, with a soft opening expected in early May. While an exact grand opening date has not been confirmed, customers can expect a mix of pinball, arcade games, and social gaming experiences for all ages, along with a liquor license and casual drink and snack options.

Experience Social is built around the idea of bringing people together through in-person gaming and shared activities. The concept is inspired by pre-smartphone social environments, where entertainment centered on gathering, conversation, and hands-on play. Loftus has emphasized creating a space that works for families, high school students, and casual groups looking for a flexible hangout spot.

The venue will span approximately 7,500 square feet, making it the flagship location for Loftus’ growing entertainment ventures in Ottawa. His current business, the Ottawa Pinball Arcade on Baseline Road, features about 30 machines and frequently reaches capacity. Loftus also operates Pinball Medic, which provides repair and parts services, along with a pinball museum near Alfred, showing his long-term involvement in the industry.

Experience Social plans to feature at least 60 pinball machines, making it the largest pinball arcade in Canada based on current known comparisons. The lineup will also include pool tables, air hockey, foosball, classic arcade video games, and large screens for sports viewing. The goal is to offer a mix of competitive and casual entertainment in one space.

The venue will not include a full kitchen, but customers will be able to bring food in from nearby restaurants or purchase snacks and drinks on site. Beverage offerings will include soft drinks and local beer. Music will be kept at a low volume to support a more relaxed environment compared to the space’s previous use as a live rock venue. Affordable after-school deals are planned, including packages around $10 that bundle games and snacks.
