Maison Dupuy Hotel is under new ownership after the Valentino family acquired the historic French Quarter property, with plans for a $13 million renovation ahead of its 2027 reopening.

The 200-room hotel at the corner of Toulouse and Burgundy streets will temporarily close, according to the hotel’s website during the renovation, with plans to reopen next year as part of Hilton’s Curio Collection. Chris Valentino confirmed the project to WhatNow Media Group.

The Valentino family acquired the hotel from the estate of developer Joe Jaeger, who owned and operated the property for nearly a decade.

According to the Canal Street Beat, the renovation will include upgraded guest rooms and public spaces, new furniture and fixtures, improvements to the restaurant, offices and mechanical systems, as well as enhancements throughout the property. Plans also include introducing a new restaurant concept.

Maison Dupuy has long been a fixture in the French Quarter, offering accommodations within walking distance of Bourbon Street, Jackson Square and other historic attractions. Built in 1971, Maison Dupuy holds a unique place in New Orleans history as the last free-standing hotel constructed from the ground up in the French Quarter before new hotel development was prohibited by city ordinance.
