The Palms Banquet Hall, one of Stockton’s most highly regarded event venues at 1108 E. March Lane, is in the process of changing hands, and a new era may be on the horizon. New owner Raman Bhatti, president of RBRM Group, confirmed to What Now that the acquisition is still moving through escrow, but that big changes are already in the works once the deal closes. A liquor license application filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control suggests the new name of the business is Opal Banquet Hall.

“Hopefully, we are closing escrow at the end of this month or the first week of August,” Bhatti told What Now Sacramento.

The Palms has built a sterling reputation in the Central Valley since opening, earning a 4.8-star rating from more than 60 reviews and becoming a go-to destination for weddings, quinceañeras, Punjabi receptions, and large celebrations of all kinds. The venue is known for its beautifully decorated interiors, in-house catering spanning Indian, American, and fusion cuisine, professional DJ and dholi services, and an accommodating ownership style that has kept guests coming back. It can host up to 400 guests and offers full-service coordination including decor, lighting, and staffing.

A pending Type 47 On-Sale General Eating Place license filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control on July, confirms the transition is actively underway, with the license being transferred from the existing permit through Capitol City Escrow in Sacramento.
