The locally owned restaurant is investing $270,000 to remodel its Broadway location.

The EVthing is preparing to refresh its downtown Cuero location with a significant interior renovation, according to recently filed construction records with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The project is planned for 511 E. Broadway, Cuero, TX 77954, where plans call for a 2,500-square-foot interior remodel of the existing restaurant. State filings indicate construction is expected to begin in May 2026 and conclude by December 2026, with an estimated project cost of $270,000.

Project documents describe the development as a privately funded interior renovation. The property is owned by RA Cuero LLC, while no tenant or design firm has been listed in the filing.

The EVthing is known as a locally owned restaurant and gathering place offering a menu of comfort food, barbecue, sandwiches, tacos, desserts and beverages. The venue also serves as an event space and features electric vehicle charging stations, reflecting its focus on both hospitality and sustainability.

While specific renovation details have not been disclosed, the project is expected to modernize the restaurant’s interior while maintaining its presence in downtown Cuero.

An official reopening timeline following the renovation has not yet been announced, and it remains unclear whether the remodel will include menu enhancements or additional customer amenities.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the project team for additional information regarding the renovation, including what guests can expect once construction is complete. This article may be updated as more information becomes available.
