According to Sonoma Mag, an affordable eatery that will offer a seasonal menu and source locally is gearing up to open in Healdsburg, The Burrow.
Coming to 22 Matheson Street — taking over a space formerly home to The Wurst — the eatery will be neighbored by the “farm-to-fork” restaurant Barndiva, Dry Creek Kitchen, and the winery Williamson Wines.
The concept’s co-owner, David Baeli, tells What Now San Francisco, “Healdsburg is a wonderful place to live, but there’s a real lack of affordable cuisine here.”
“We just want to create a very family-friendly, affordable restaurant in Healdsburg… We’re going to be very approachable, and sustainably and responsibly sourced,” he continues.
“It will be a seasonally rotating menu, but we will stick with a lot of the classics: soup and salads during the day, Sunday brunches,” Baeli shares. Menu options will also include items such as Thai-style lettuce cups and crispy duck banh mi sandwiches — “I’m a huge fan of making handmade pasta,” he adds.
“We’re only going to be carrying beers from independently certified breweries. My wife is going to run our wine program, it will be a blend of both domestic and imported.”
Concerning the opening date, Baeli says, “We are looking at the second or third week of May.” Stay tuned for updates.
