Owners of the Michelin-starred restaurant Atelier are eyeing a larger location following the success of their Lincoln Square restaurant.
According to an article from Eater Chicago, the business’ lease ends in July, and owner Tim Lacey is looking for a larger space. They have launched an online campaign to aid in the relocation.
Atelier, located at 4835 N. Western Avenue, was rated one of Chicago Magazine’s Best New Restaurants for 2023 and 2024. The space had previously been a restaurant called Elizabeth since it opened in 2012, then they closed in 2022. After that, James Beard finalist Christian Hunter helped open the restaurant as Atelier.
Options on the current menu include scallops, morkavcha, grits, caesar salad, chowder and whole chicken yakitori. Items on the menu go for around $17 on weeknights and $200 on weekends, and wines are available to pair with meals.
They would ideally like to stay in Lincoln Square, but in a larger space. Lincoln Square is a competitive area for the culinary scene, with many restaurants along North Lincoln Avenue and North Western Avenue.
