A restaurant promising fast casual Mexican cuisine is on the way to the college town.
El Camino Garage Bar is the newest concept to open in East Lansing at 4790 S Hagadorn Street, Suite 102. It comes from Stacey Wesolek, managing partner at the Tin Can Bar chain in the city. Wesolek has not announced an opening date, but it will be sometime this summer.
“Mexican fast casual & full bar,” says the description on the business’s Instagram page.
Wesolek is debuting the restaurant in honor of her friend Felipe Pesina, who passed away in 2022 and also had experience in hospitality. Pesina wanted to open a space with Wesolek, and now she is fulfilling this wish. She has been involved with Tin Can Bar for 15 years.
While the menu is being kept under wraps, Mexican food items can be expected, like nachos and tacos. A bar top has also been installed inside for serving margaritas.
Those driving on Hagadorn Road can find the restaurant on the east side of the street, next to Square One Breakfast & Bakery. This is in the Hannah Plaza, also close to Pizza House and Sindhu Indian Cuisine. Michigan State University’s main campus is right across the street from the plaza.
More information on El Camino and the future opening will be released in the coming weeks.
