What started as an entertainment venue could soon be an all-day community space.

Culture Connects 707 is planning a change of concept on Howard Street, per a report from Evanston Now. The venue will be a coffee shop during the day, and a comedy club during the evening. Owner James Simelton told What Now Chicago he does not have an estimated opening date yet.

The business already operates as a venue space, also hosting open mic nights. This new addition would make it an all-day space. He wants to make the space similar to a coffee chain like Starbucks, and he has not yet released a cafe menu.

“Venue space for all your celebrating needs; parties, pop-up shops, baby showers, prom send-offs and more. We got you,” says the description on their Instagram page.

The space is at the intersection of Center Avenue, next to GOOD TO GO Jamaican restaurant. This is also across the street from Tasty Sub. The Howard CTA station is only a short walk east of the location.

As Simelton has just applied for licensing, he is waiting to release more information on the coffee shop until it gets closer to the opening. For more updates, visit their Instagram or Facebook pages.
