A new health-focused meal-prep concept is preparing to open in Peoria, aiming to help local residents simplify healthy eating while providing nutrition coaching and wellness support. Project LeanNation Lake Pleasant is currently under construction at 9785 W. Happy Valley Road in Peoria.

Owners Kyle and Courtney Bridges, a husband-and-wife team, are working toward an opening later this summer, pending final city approvals. The couple’s path to Project LeanNation was shaped by personal experience.

“Health and nutrition have become very important parts of our lives over the years as we dealt with health challenges concerning two of our four children,” he said. “It really helped push us toward natural and holistic medicine, as well as the benefits that truly good nutrition can help bring. Courtney has helped many people over the years with nutrition and wellness, and this felt like a natural progression.”

She has a background in health and wellness and the dental field, while Kyle worked in the RV industry for over 20 years. They had friends with PLN franchises in other parts of the country, which sparked their interest in the brand.

After doing some research on the concept, the two flew out to the home office in Rochester, New York, to dive deeper into the business operations, meet key figures, and learn more about the food standards.

“We learned that all the meals are gluten-free, seed oil-free, non-GMO, and reduced sodium,” he shared. “We loved the food – but most importantly, the company aligned with who we are, and the people were fantastic. We decided that we wanted to bring Project LeanNation to Arizona and our own community.”

Unlike traditional meal delivery services, Project LeanNation combines prepared meals with personalized wellness support. Memberships include complimentary InBody body composition scans and one-on-one nutritional coaching sessions with educators.

Customers can purchase individual meals, but the company’s subscription meal plans are designed to provide the greatest value. The program offers meal boxes containing 12, 18, 24, or 30 meals that can be picked up weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. For early sales prior to opening, the company is offering a limited founding membership promotion. Customers will lock in a lifetime discount of $20 off every box of meals.

“We don’t just offer meals dropped at your door like many companies do – we lock arms with the community, get to know people, learn about their goals, and use InBody scans to help create a meal plan that is right for them,” Kyle explained.

When it opens, Project LeanNation plans to offer approximately 24 rotating meal options at any given time, with menus changing every 10 weeks. Current offerings include Baja Beef, Sicilian Shrimp, Nashville Hot Chicken, Balsamic Burger, breakfast options, and a variety of protein ball flavors. They will also sell cold-pressed juices, grab-and-go protein shakes, and 1st Phorm supplements.

Bridges hopes that the concept will be welcomed by many different people in the community, and that he can help Peorians and those in the surrounding communities achieve a healthier lifestyle through targeted, improved nutrition.

“This really can be anyone: people who love to meal prep but don’t always have the time, people who hate meal prepping but know they need to eat healthy, busy moms and parents that have a schedule full of kids’ activities and don’t want to eat fast food all of the time,” he said.

They had tentatively targeted June 27 for its opening, but that timeline remains dependent on city approvals and the permitting process.
