Mother Other to Open in Broadway Park

Mother Other is a new vegan restaurant and cocktail bar that is opening in Denver’s Broadway Park. The restaurant will open on June 27 at 675 S. Broadway. It is created by chef Alexi Mandolini and beverage director Taylor Herbert.

The concept aims to become a plant-based comfort-food destination for the community. The menu adapts family recipes into plant-based dishes.

Mandolini and Herbert are also behind the concept, The Easy Vegan, which was launched in 2020. Mother Other previously operated as a supper club before expanding into a full-service restaurant.

Menu Highlights

The menu at Mother Other blends Italian, Polish, and Japanese cuisines while remaining entirely plant-based. It is subject to change based on ingredient availability and new ideas. The menu will rotate based on seasonal ingredients and new menu development.

Some of the dishes include Giarancini, which is a giardiniera-inspired take on arancini, and Spring pea and leek dumplings in porcini broth. It also includes Japanese sweet potatoes with miso and black garlic whipped potato, and Potato and chive pierogi.

Beverage director Taylor Herbert will oversee the beverage program, according to a recent report by Westword. She plans to offer seasonal cocktails and house-made vegetable sodas using ingredients such as carrot, tomato, and celery root.

Mother Other represents the next evolution of Denver’s vegan dining scene. It is also a major milestone for the founders Alexi Mandolini and Taylor Herbert.
