Following his success with Hillgrove Tap, a restaurateur has a new project in the works.
It is being reported the space that was Salero’s Pizzeria at 821 Burlington Avenue is being turned into Alano Ristorante, an Italian concept from Chris Elsey. Salero closed in early January this year, and Elsey with his team recently acquired the space. Right now, they are hoping for an October opening date.
Elsey was a managing partner for Francesca’s Restaurants for 30 years. Now independent, he is debuting this project with a restaurant partner after opening Hillgrove Tap locations in Western Springs and Tinley Park. Elsey said he just wanted to bring an Italian option to the suburb.
“Taste of Italy awaits you,” says the description on the Alano Ristorante website.
A full menu will be released closer to the opening, but guests can expect classic Italian items like pastas and pizzas. Many specials will also be offered. From conceptual pictures, wine and spirits are going to be on the drink menu.
The restaurant will be right in downtown Western Springs, next to Kirschbaum’s Bakery. This is near the Wolf Road intersection, and Davanti Enoteca Italian restaurant is also across the street. The Western Springs Metra station is a short walk from the storefront.
Right now, no social media pages have been set up for Alano Ristorante. Elsey will be releasing more information about the restaurant in the near future.
