A new location for a restaurant will compliment an upcoming community development building.
From Block Club Chicago, the team at Spot Bistro is seeking a location at the new The Re-Up development coming to 1158 W 59th Street in Englewood. It follows the opening of their flagship location on S Halsted last year. According to owner Letita Rogers, she will debut the new “spot” sometime next year, perhaps March.
What Now Chicago previously covered Spot Bistro opening at 7317 S Halsted Street, and it has become known for their three menus: breakfast, lunch and chef specials. Their specials include stuffed catfish, gump, seared salmon and blackened chicken pasta. According to Rogers, the new restaurant will serve mainly breakfast items.
Re-Up is the name of the project, and it is replacing Leon’s Bar-B-Q space. This is set to be a two-floor headquarters for R.A.G.E., an organization promoting community development. The groundbreaking for the site took place on June 15.
The new development is on the northeast side of the S Racine Avenue intersection. This area is known as West Englewood, and nearby concepts include John’s Drive-In, Legends Chicken & Fish and Jimmy’s Famous Burgers.
