Sundrip, a health-conscious restaurant specializing in plant-based raw food, is working on a new location in Hyde Park at 1109 E 55th St.

The company’s second location is expected to move into the ground floor of Campus North Residential Commons, between Insomnia Cookies and TE’AMO Boba Bar. Recent building permit applications suggest the company will carry out an interior build-out for a new restaurant in the space. Other nearby eateries include Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea and Nella Pizza e Pasta. Sundrip has one location in Fulton Market at 210 N. Carpenter St. The new restaurant will continue the company’s commitment to the environment and Zero Waste.

The family-owned business, led by Carole, Jeremy, and Kaitlyn Jones, opened to transform the world through plants and give Chicago residents more plant-based raw food options. The three of them have a deep passion for conscious business practices. Kaitlyn has been a lifelong vegetarian turned vegan, while Jeremy has spent five years with Chicago Raw. Their mother, Carole, was driven to share the healing powers of a plant-based diet after losing her husband to cancer. Menu items at Sundrip include smoothie bowls, soups, pastries, cake cups, and various vegan beverages.

“At Sundrip, we love sharing the joy and delight of a plant-rich lifestyle because we believe in a world where plants and people thrive together,” according to the company’s website. “Our mission is to invigorate our community through sustainable goods and healthy provisions for everyday wellness so they can shine from their souls. Community and inclusivity are at the core of everything we do—everyone should have the opportunity to drench themselves in Sundrip goodness. We welcome all with big hearts and open minds because our passion for plants, our planet, and the people we serve runs deep.”
