Kilwins, the confectionery chain known for its hand-crafted chocolates, fudge, and ice cream, is bringing a new location to Fort Worth. According to public filings, the store is planned for Suite 116 at Stockyards Station, 140 E Exchange Avenue, with a construction completion targeted for November 2026.
What Now Dallas spoke with a representative from Cowtown Confection, the franchisee behind the Stockyards location, who said the project is “still in the works” and declined to share further details.
The new shop would land inside Stockyards Station, the century-old former livestock pen building that now anchors the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. The building houses more than 20 shops and restaurants along Exchange Avenue.
Kilwins got its start in 1947, when Don and Katy Kilwin opened a small bakery in Petoskey, Michigan, before shifting focus to hand-paddled fudge, chocolates, and ice cream. The brand has since grown into a franchise system with more than 180 locations across roughly 30 states, many of them concentrated in tourist destinations, resort towns, and historic districts much like the Fort Worth Stockyards.
What Now has followed Kilwins’ expansion closely this year, from a Houston-area push tied to 13 planned stores across Greater Houston and Galveston to the brand’s East Village shop in Houston’s EaDo neighborhood and a new Burr Ridge location outside Chicago. The Fort Worth Stockyards project would mark another stop on the confectionery chain’s active 2026 growth run across the country.
