New dining options are coming to the suburb next spring.
Redevelopment is happening of the former St. Mary’s Nursing Center in St. Clair Shores to make way for a new Pita Way location, per a post from Gerdom Realty & Investment. It will join a Chipotle and Panera at the new plaza, just east of Mack Avenue on E Nine Mile Road. CEO of Pita Way Brandon Bahoura told What Now Detroit he is hoping to debut the new location by April next year.
Pita Way operates around 50 locations in Michigan and Ohio, with 10 more coming soon. What Now Detroit previously covered their new restaurant coming to Clinton Township at 16031 15 Mile Road. Other locations around Southeast Michigan include in Livonia, Warren, Bloomfield Hills, Farmington Hills and Woodhaven. Bahoura founded the company in 2010 in Clarkston.
“We strive to serve our communities a taste of the Mediterranean region, guaranteeing quality, affordable food, fast. Our bottom line is to serve delicious, convenient, and healthy meals to our customers,” says the description on their website. While their pitas are popular, their menu also offers bowls, chips, tenders and fries.
While there is no address for the 1,620-square-foot development yet, it will be close to the intersection of Greater Mack Avenue which features many restaurant options. This includes Sy Thai Shores, Cedar Garden and Shores Inn Food & Spirits. The nursing home closed around six years ago.
What Now Detroit has reached out to Pita Way for more information on the new location, and this article may be updated.
