Fall of 2026 promises to be a particularly exciting season for Jackson lovers of dining and culture alike. Helmed by accomplished restaurateur John Tierre, Nissan Cafe is getting ready to open in The Two Mississippi Museums in the near future.

Nissan Cafe has been stirring excitement about its upcoming arrival and its promise to bring “Good food. Good energy. A new reason to stay awhile” to 222 North Street via social media. The concept teases what’s to come, describing it as: “A new collaboration bringing together Nissan × John Tierre Hospitality × Two Mississippi Museums — creating a café experience inspired by food, culture, history, and community.”

Nissan Cafe does not yet have an opening date, however its collected Instagram posts state that it anticipates being customer-ready this October. Excited future regulars can follow along on social media for opening updates and menu peeks-indeed, Nissan Cafe states: “We want you to see the journey, not just the finished product. So between now and opening day, we’re taking you behind the scenes as the café comes together piece by piece.”

A recent post shows the progress being made in the kitchen; saying “The kitchen is almost ready. Now it’s time to bring it to life”, the update shows a relatively polished environment, seemingly ready to cook up an array of delicious dishes.

The restaurant has not released a comprehensive menu yet, however its Instagram promises dishes like: “Red Beans & Rice with Andouille Sausage — one of the daily specials you can expect at Nissan Café. Comfort food. Mississippi flavor. Made for more than just a quick stop.”
