A Jonesboro Southern comfort favorite is preparing to expand its regional empire. The Southern Chef is getting ready to open its sixth location, and in doing so to bring even more of its beloved homestyle cuisine to hungry diners.

A Facebook post announcing the new location states that the eatery will be setting up shop at 1324 Redwolf Boulevard. The Southern Chef will be a radical change for the storefront, which previously housed an Advance Auto Parts. An April 10 social media post from Haag Brown Commercial real estate pertaining to the sale of the building shows that The Southern Chef will be gaining 7,000 square feet of restaurant space.

An opening timeline is not presently available for The Southern Chef’s upcoming location. The restaurant’s post says it is “coming soon”. The building’s sale is recent, however, and renovations will need to be completed to turn it from an auto parts store into a dining establishment, so locals may need to exercise patience.

While it is unclear whether or not the new location will differ in any significant ways from previous The Southern Chefs, it is certain the chain will continue to serve up the hearty and comforting fare that’s made it such a local favorite. Current menu items include crowd-pleasers like the double baconator, country fried steak, and of course wings. A salad menu is available for those hoping for a lighter meal.
