A pair of Memphis-area fast-casual restaurants poised for closure have found a savior in the form of Wendelta. The group has stepped in to rescue two Wendy’s restaurants, with big plans to refurbish the locations, reports Daily Memphian.

Wendelta, a subsidiary of Carlisle Corp, bought the eateries from the Meritage Hospitality Group, which intended to shutter them. Instead, the stores, located at 8092 Rockcreek Cove in Cordova and 815 N. Germantown Road, will be getting thorough make-overs.

Carlisle Corp CEO Chance Carlisle explains: “We’ve got a lot of work to do to turn those restaurants around, and we’re up for it.”

And what, precisely, does that work entail? Customers can look forward to upgraded kitchens and drive-thrus, as well as enjoying their meals in brand new dining rooms.

Carlisle explains that creating a great Wendy’s dining experience will take some time, saying: “It’ll probably take us eight to 12 months to plan, permit and rebuild these restaurants.”

Wendelta has proven itself to be extremely adept at running Wendy’s, a reputation Carlisle has every intention of continuing with these newly acquired storefronts. He says: “…we know how to run really great restaurants, and it starts with the people. We’re going to hire some great people and have a Dave’s Double that everyone can count on.”
