The Boelter Companies, Inc. plans to sell and close its Ohio facility, Custom Deco LLC, this May. The longtime manufacturer has cited “changing business circumstances” for the decision. The closure will impact 64 employees.
Custom Deco LLC Prepares to Close Permanently
Custom Deco LLC, an Ohio-based manufacturing facility offering decorative glassware, is preparing to close its site located at 1343 Miami St., Toledo, Ohio 43605. The closure comes as parent company The Boelter Companies, Inc. moves to sell the site.
The Boelter Companies, Inc. disclosed details of the closure in a WARN notice with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The notice is dated March 9, 2026, and is pursuant to the Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act and Ohio Revised Code § 4413.31.
The permanent closure of the Ohio location is scheduled for May 29, 2026, although the shutdown may take place within 14-day window.
64 Employees Face Layoffs
A total of 64 employees across all departments and divisions including Shipping, SGA, Infrastructure, Maintenance, Shipping, Indirect Production Admin, Production Art, Indirect Production Admin, Production, and Quality Control will be affected by the layoffs.
The Boelter Companies, Inc.’s notice adds that the buyer may hire 22 of the impacted workers. The company said it will assist employees during the rehiring process.
In addition, the manufacturing company stated that the Ohio facility’s employees will receive all earned wages and benefits through their final day of employment. The Boelter Companies, Inc. further shared details pertaining to unemployment insurance benefits and outplacement services, ClearPointHCO.
