Upscale Italian restaurant chain North Italia is set to be a part of the highly anticipated expansion project at The Shops at Mission Viejo. OC Register recently announced it will be one of the new tenants expected at the redeveloping shopping complex, located at 555 The Shops At Mission Viejo.

Known for its contemporary approach to classic Italian cuisine, the brand prides itself on offering handcrafted pastas, pizzas, and other Italian favorites made from scratch daily. It also serves up an assortment of wines, beers, and house-made cocktails.

North Italia was developed under Fox Restaurant Concepts, a hospitality group that then joined the Cheesecake Factory umbrella of brands in 2019 in a $350 million-plus deal. It’s a hugely successful chain, with nearly $8 million in average yearly sales per location last year, the company reported.

The restaurant will be part of a new 50,000-square-foot outdoor shopping and dining village being added onto mall property. Seafood joint Pacific Catch and retail stores Uniqlo and Arhaus have also been announced as future tenants, according to Simon Property Group.

A spokesperson for the brand declined to share any details about the project, telling What Now OC, “We are always excited about the potential of introducing North Italia to new communities, but at this time, we have no news to share regarding Mission Viejo.”
