Chuze Fitness, a San Diego-based gym chain, is preparing to open two new locations in the Sacramento area, one in Antelope at 4249 Elverta Road and another in South Land Park at 4880 Freeport Boulevard. The company’s website lists both as “coming soon,” with the Freeport Boulevard location targeting an opening in early 2027 and the Antelope location expected sometime in 2026, though no specific dates have been confirmed for either.
The Antelope location is the larger of the two. Real estate developer Ethan Conrad Properties announced that Chuze Fitness has leased a 46,249-square-foot space at 4249 Elverta Road, previously occupied by Orchard Supply Hardware. The site sits at the signalized intersection of Elverta Road and Walerga Road, one of the most prominent intersections in Antelope.
The Freeport Boulevard location will occupy a 35,817-square-foot space, according to permits filed with the City of Sacramento. The project involves a commercial remodel of the existing building, including facade improvements and a full change of occupancy from mercantile to fitness club. Plans call for a sauna room, spa and cold plunge pool, outdoor shade system, and interior and exterior signage. The site is part of the former Raley’s space that moved a block north in 2020, and will share the building with an Ace Hardware store. It will become the chain’s third location in the immediate Sacramento area, joining existing gyms at 6061 Florin Road in south Sacramento and 5995 Birdcage Centre Lane in Citrus Heights.
Chuze Fitness is known for offering a wide range of amenities, including saunas, circuit training, cardio equipment, hydro massage, body composition scanning, pools, tanning, and hot tubs, with memberships starting at $9.99 per month. Pre-opening membership specials are currently available for both Sacramento-area locations on the company’s website.
