EggBred, a fast-casual breakfast and brunch restaurant specializing in handcrafted breakfast sandwiches, is getting ready to open a new location in San Diego at 16621 Dove Canyon Road.
The company recently submitted documents to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality for the new location, according to public records. CEO Albert Shim tells What Now San Diego that the 4S Ranch restaurant will be owned by franchise owners Armando Ponce Perez and Mariela Ponce. While an exact opening date has not been announced, customers can expect EggBred’s lineup of breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and other made-from-scratch menu items.
EggBred was founded in 2020 by Shim, who developed the concept after years working in the food industry and operating successful food truck businesses. The brand focuses on breakfast sandwiches made with fresh ingredients, including fresh cracked eggs, house-made sauces, proprietary protein blends, and baked goods sourced from local bakeries. The company has since expanded through franchising with locations throughout California and other markets.
The 4S Ranch restaurant will add another San Diego presence for EggBred, which previously announced plans for a location at 2810B El Cajon Boulevard. The company currently serves customers through its existing locations and continues growing its footprint with new franchise partners.
The menu centers around breakfast sandwiches served on milk buns and English muffins, along with breakfast burritos, lunch sandwiches, sides, and beverages. Popular items include the Bacon Egg & Cheese, Pork Chorizo Egg & Cheese, Country Fried Chicken sandwich, Build a Benny, and various breakfast burritos featuring options such as ribeye asada, house pork chorizo, and buttermilk fried chicken.
This will be an excellent landing space for EggBred, bringing another breakfast-focused restaurant option to the 4S Ranch community. As the company continues expanding throughout San Diego, the new location will give customers another place to enjoy the brand’s scratch-made breakfast offerings.
