According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, Shake Shack is expanding its Bay Area footprint, gearing up to debut a new outpost in San Jose.

Coming to 1554 Bascom Avenue, the eatery will land near establishments such as House of Bagels, Jamba Juice, and Local Kitchens.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, Shake Shack offers a brief introduction on its website: “When Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park, our mission was simple: raise funds for a public art project.”

“From quality sourcing of ingredients in strict accordance with our industry-leading animal welfare practices to making our Shacks beautiful community gathering spaces built with sustainable materials, our goal is always the same: do the right thing,” the statement continues.

The business currently operates over 500 locations across the globe.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
