An American contemporary concept is being kept relatively under wraps.
Boka Restaurant Group recently announced The Ives is the newest project for the Hyatt hotel at 12 S Michigan Avenue. It replaces the former Cherry Circle Room, and continues the hospitality group’s expansion inside the building. Representatives from Boka Restaurant Group told What Now Chicago the opening date will be sometime in May.
Chicago Athletic Association is a 4-star hotel that also houses dining concepts including Cindy’s rooftop restaurant and Game Room bar. Boka Restaurant Group previously opened Midosuji in 2025, an eight-seat omakase concept. Now, the team, with veteran chef Chris Pandel, are getting ready to debut a contemporary American dining spot.
“The Ives is not a reinvention, but a celebration of the enduring appeal of a great American dining room, brought to life through energy, interaction, and a service team that defines the experience as much as the food itself,” said co-founder of Boka Restaurant Group Rob Katz in a press release.
A menu hasn’t been revealed, but there will be cart service options like a relish cart and prime rib. A stand-out cocktail menu is also in the plans. Inside, the floor features an area for lounging.
The restaurant group already manages many Chicago concepts including their self-titled American restaurant in Old Town, Alla Vita in West Loop and Girl & The Goat in Fulton Market District. This time, the team is staying in The Loop.
