After bringing new locations to the suburbs, a franchise company is looking at new space.
A Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins franchise is applying for a new location at 8357 Skokie Boulevard near Main Street, from a recent Planning Commission meeting. This would be replacing the current coffee spot at 8408 Skokie Boulevard. Franchisee Reena Khowaja told What Now Chicago the opening date is to be determined as the project needs to go through public hearings.
The village has four Dunkin’ locations, also at 3900 Dempster, 5252 Dempster and 5150 W Touhy Avenue. The Touhy Avenue shop was opened in 2022 by Khowaja, per a report from Chicago Tribune. Her company is called Panjwani Network Restaurants.
This new Dunkin’ would have space for both a drive-thru and outdoor dining, which are not available at the current location. The inside will also have chairs and tables. It is planned for the shop and drive-thru to be open from 4 a.m.-10 p.m., seven days a week.
Regulars of Dunkin’ know the menu items to expect, with seasonal drinks and pastries. At Baskin-Robbins, popular and unique flavors include pistachio chocolate bar, cherries jubilee and cookie monster with chocolate chip cookie pieces.
The new location is proposed for what is considered Skokie’s downtown, on the southeast corner of the intersection. This is next to Pho Phu Linh, and close to Sarra Grill. The current Dunkin’ is at the northwest corner of the intersection.
As of now, the location is not listed online. More updates will be provided by the franchise in the coming weeks.
