Something new with fresh brews and frozen custard is coming to the northwest neighborhood.

From Block Club Chicago, Kind Brew Cafe and Creamery is a new drive-thru shop coming to 5466 N Milwaukee Avenue in Jefferson Park. This is owner Brandon Grosz’s first concept, and is going in the former Bank of America building. As it is early in the permitting process, Grosz told What Now Chicago he does not yet have an opening date.

This is a project that has been in the plans for around nine months, according to Grosz. He recently presented his cafe to the community at a neighborhood meeting, and needs additional approval and permitting. He plans for this to be an all-day cafe.

While Grosz will focus on the coffees and teas, the shop will also serve frozen custard as a main dessert option. Sandwiches, salads, pastries, smoothies and avocado toast are also going to be available. He envisions a space that students can go to after school or for those needing a coffee on their way to work.

Kind Brew is coming to the west side of N Milwaukee Avenue, near the intersection of N Menard Avenue. This is near other concepts in the neighborhood like Andy’s Deli & Mikolajczyk Sausage, as well as Corral House Bar & Grill. The Gladstone Park Metra station is a short walk from the storefront.

Grosz has not yet set up a social media account for the business, but he will release more information as the opening progresses.
