The Nutella Café in Chicago has reopened. The cafe closed in March to undergo renovations. The reopening brings a refreshed space that is serving an elevated experience to visitors.

Nutella Café Reopens on Michigan Avenue

The Nutella Café is a one-of-a-kind destination dedicated to the famous chocolate-hazelnut spread. It is the first standalone Nutella Café in the U.S. and has been a popular stop for tourists and locals. The cafe is located at 189 N. Michigan Avenue and is just a short walk from Millennium Park.

The cafe closed in March 2026 for a major renovation. It reopened on July 17 with a refreshed space, according to an Instagram post. The reopening also brought an expanded menu that is perfect for Nutella fans.

Nutella Café offers a menu that revolves around Nutella but also offers savory items and coffee. Popular items on the menu include build-your-own crepes, waffles and pancakes, French toast, and grilled baguettes with Nutella. According to PR Newswire, the newly expanded menu offers Nutella tiramisu cups, Nutella milkshakes, Nutella mocha frappes, and other items.

Richard Fossali, Vice President and General Manager of Fannie May and Nutella Café, said the redesigned café continues to deliver the experience fans love.

Inside the Redesigned Space

The newly reopened Nutella Café takes inspiration from the iconic Nutella jar. It features a new ordering station, updated decor, and dedicated areas for shopping, ordering, and dining. The updates create a more modern, immersive, and convenient experience for visitors.

The interior features a swirling bronze mesh ceiling and textured walls resembling the smooth spread. Decorative feature walls and branded displays have been added throughout the cafe, giving visitors several spots to take photos.

The cafe is also adding new digital features, including order-ahead pickup and a virtual waitlist. The waitlist notifies guests when their table is ready. The additions are designed to reduce wait times and make visits more efficient.

Nutella Café’s reopening marks a new chapter for the iconic Michigan Avenue destination.
