A chain started by longtime friends is coming back to the suburbs this year.
A new Naansense location is listed at 116 N York Street in downtown Elmhurst. This marks Hiran and Viral Patel’s return to the suburbs, with his only remaining location in The Loop. As of now, an opening date hasn’t been announced.
Naansense is currently open at at 178 N Franklin Street in The Loop. What Now Chicago has previously reported on restaurants coming to suburbs including Oak Brook, Naperville, Schaumburg and Glenview. This looks to be Patel’s second attempt to expand throughout Chicagoland.
The menu at The Loop restaurant features signature naan wraps with choice of protein, bowls with a piece of baked naan, and sides like masala fries or samosas. Those ordering a bowl or wraps can choose vegetarian or vegan options, with pea croquettes, chickpeas and other seasonal vegetables. Indian sodas and mango lassi are the main drinks available.
Naansense will be on the west side of N York Street, next to Buckingham Pilates and across from Modern Plate. Tannis Wine Bar & Boutique is also on the other side of the alley, and this is a short walk from the Elmhurst Metra station.
What Now Chicago has reached out to Patel and is awaiting comment. Right now, no updates on the opening have been posted on Naansense’s website or social media pages.
