A South Korean and French bakery chain has plans to serve at an additional Chicagoland location.
Husband-and-wife duo Vatsal and Shruti Pathak are getting ready to debut their own Tous Les Jours bakery at 1550 75th Street in Downers Grove. This is their first venture with the company. Vatsal told What Now Chicago he is hoping to open the franchised location around the Fourth of July, but the date is not official.
Many who stop at the bakery go in for either a sweet treat, coffee or refresher. A few baked goods include baguettes, chocolate-dipped Belgian waffles, custard buns and honey cheese mochi pancakes. Locations also have many pastries, sandwiches, and cake flavors to choose from.
While this is the first Tous Les Jours in Downers Grove, it is by no means the first to open in Illinois. There are currently three in Chicago city limits, and additional bakeries in Naperville, Lombard, Glenview, Vernon Hills and Schaumburg. Another location is planned for south of Chicagoland in Champaign.
Tous Les Jours is coming to the north side of 75th Street, at The Grove Shopping Center. A KFC and Chili’s are also close to the road, and this is across the street from Village Greens of Woodbridge golf course. The plaza is south of downtown Downers Grove.
What Now Chicago has reached out to Vatsal and is awaiting further comment.
